Description:

The Vascular Surgery Department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals are pleased to announce that a 12 month Senior Clinical Fellow post to commence in April 2025. MBBS and MRCS or equivalent are essential. The posts do not award a National Training Number. As the post is not recognised as a ‘training post’, full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required. The duties of the post are equivalent to ST3+ level.
This is an opportunity to join a busy vascular centre in one of the largest teaching hospitals in the UK. Sheffield Vascular Institute is a tertiary referral centre for the management of complex arterial and venous diseases. We work closely with, and provide support to, a wide range of other specialities and services including: Transplant Surgery, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Cardiothoracic, and General Surgery.
The out of hours “on call” commitment is for the Acute Vascular and Transplant emergencies. The “on call” work is off-site residing within less than 30 minutes of travel time. The expectation is to attend in person on site (Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust) when needed. There is opportunity to attend some elective vascular access lists.

The successful candidate will have extensive exposure to open vascular and endovascular interventions, acute Renal access and renal transplant surgery. This position is suitable for individuals considering a career in surgery via “Certificate of Eligibility for Speciality Registration-CESR” route or though joining speciality training programme in Vascular Surgery
