POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Clinical Lab Technologist will play a key role within our Clinical Genomics Laboratory, overseeing the day-to-day workflows and operation of our methylation microarray testing platform. This individual will ensure the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of testing, while maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The Senior Clinical Lab Technologist will also support test development, validation, and optimization efforts, working closely with medical directors, laboratory leadership, and technical staff to advance clinical genomic services.

EDUCATION:

Associate degree or combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education.

Responsibilities
  • Performs routine and complex assays according to laboratory Standard Operating Procedures. Includes routine maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments and equipment.
  • Reviews assay data. Solves routine problems without supervisory assistance. Participates in complex problem resolution.
  • Serves as a resource to medical technologists and laboratory assistants. Trains new employees.
  • Assists with the development and validation of new assays. Assists with updates and the development of procedure manuals. Utilizes database, spreadsheet and word processing programs.
  • Complies with all regulatory and client requirements for testing and documentation.
  • Demonstrates a general understanding of assay methods and clinical relevance. Participates in relevant continuing education.
  • Assists supervisor with other duties and special projects as needed.
