The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Senior Clinical Manager, Quality and Patient Safety. Reporting to the Director, Quality, Experience and Patient Safety and working collaboratively with the Medical Director, the Senior Clinical Manager will lead the organization in promoting a culture of continuous quality improvement, addressing patient safety risks and implementing improvement and patient safety science principles across CAMH.
The Senior Clinical Manager will work alongside the dyad leaders (Director and Medical Director) for Quality, Experience and Patient Safety to create and deliver on the strategic priorities and operation goals of the Quality, and Patient Safety team.
The Senior Clinical Manager will oversee the Quality and Patient Safety teams in providing education and training to the organization, supporting the development of the annual Quality Improvement Plan, Accreditation and Quality Council initiatives, leading Incident Management, supporting the work of the Quality Care Committee and Clinical Quality Committee of the Board. The Senior Clinical Manager will play an integral role in developing and supporting CAMH’s Quality Training Academy and will work closely with the organization’s Data and Insights team to drive quality and patient safety improvements. This role will also partner with the Patient and Family Experience teams to support the organization’s initiatives related to experience and engagement of patients, families and carers. Linking experience data to clear quality initiatives that enhance access, processes, outcomes, and experiences of care.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a health related discipline, healthcare administration, public health, or a related field is required.
  • 5-7 years experience in a healthcare setting, with a focus on quality improvement, patient safety, or a related area.
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience leading a team within a healthcare setting, with a focus on quality improvement, patient safety or related area.
  • Regulated health professional in good standing
  • Certification in healthcare quality (e.g., Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality - CPHQ) is an asset
  • Certification in Patient Safety (e.g. Canadian Patient Safety Officer) is an asset
  • Lean certification an asset
  • Experience with RLDatix © software preferred.
  • Experience in a mental health and addictions setting may be an asset.
  • Experience in data analysis, project management, facilitation, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of healthcare quality improvement methodologies and best practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
  • Demonstrated skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders in the community on behalf of CAMH, demonstrated sensitivity to the principles of diversity and culture, the ability to challenge and to motivate others and the ability to forge strong relationships with staff and the clients they serve are required.
  • Excellent Computer skills (Access, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Outlook, Feedback Monitor Pro, etc) and an understanding of databases are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability in oral presentation, data analysis and report generation and report-writing skills
  • Demonstrated awareness and adherence to established standards of professional practice and personal conduct
  • Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language is an asset.
