    The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Clinical Oversight Officer to provide a critical role within Justice Health.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A tertiary qualification in a health or related field.
  • Current AHPRA registration is desirable.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Some of your duties will include:

  • Review, investigate and audit healthcare service delivery.
  • Maintain sound systems, policies and procedures that foster a patient-focused culture that encourages innovation and problem solving.
  • Engage with children and young people in custody, as well as parents, guardians and advocates to understand their healthcare needs and experiences and ensure their experiences inform ongoing improvements in healthcare in custodial settings.

Justice Health is responsible for:

  • the delivery of primary health, primary mental health and specialist forensic mental health services for people in Victorian prisons and young people in custodial centres. In Victoria, health services to people in adult correctional and youth justice facilities are delivered by both public and private providers
  • managing relevant contractual arrangements, including overseeing the delivery of health services and the provision and maintenance of all medical records in an electronic medical record
  • facilitating the release of health information to community health care providers, legal representatives, and individuals
  • the design, procurement and delivery of new and innovative, evidenced-based health services that meet the needs of people of all ages and genders in custody

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivery of healthcare services in highly sensitive and complex environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in a quality focused role
