Description:

Kent & Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust is a specialist mental health trust situated within the pleasant surroundings and open countryside of Kent. There are excellent links and easy access to both London and the Continent.
We are seeking to recruit a part time (30hrs a week) highly experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our multi professional team working within the specialist Perinatal Rosewood Mother and Baby unit (MBU) located in Dartford.
The successful candidate must be committed to the development and clinical leadership of Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Services
The successful candidate will have a good honours degree in Psychology and a Post-graduate doctorate in clinical psychology (or its equivalent) as accredited by the BPS/ HCPC.
You will also have leadership experience and possess excellent knowledge, skills, experience and expertise in the provision of acute or perinatal mental health inpatient care. Additionally, you will have significant experience working as a qualified specialist clinical psychologist.
To be responsible for the systematic provision of Specialist Clinical Psychological Services to mothers with acute perinatal mental health difficulties admitted to the Rosewood mother and baby unit (MBU).
To undertake high quality direct (assessment and therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory and evaluative) specialist psychology interventions within the MBU taking substantial professional responsibility and exercising autonomous judgement in their professional practice.
To ensure the clinical effectiveness of own practice and of service functioning by undertaking research and development activities relevant to the MBU.
To be regularly responsible for providing training placements for trainee clinical psychologists in this specialism.
To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team in the MBU, liaising closely with the Perinatal Service Manager, Ward Manager, Consultant Psychiatrist and other team members.
To work as a member of the MBU and liaise with other members for co-ordination and support.

The successful candidate will provide specialist psychological interventions to mothers, infants and families during the perinatal period. Delivering specialist psychological assessment, therapy, advice, supervision and consultation as required
The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the services policies and procedures.
There are supportive professional management and supervision structures in place within the specialty, and active peer supervision group meetings. Psychological services in the Trust consist of about 200 members of staff, and are highly respected by clinicians and managers within the organisation and beyond. Excellent academic and training links exist with Salomons Centre, Canterbury Christ Church University College. Provision of CPD is good and strong professional development structures are in place. You will have opportunities for collaboration on research and service evaluation projects within the Service.
