THE OPPORTUNITY
Join a leading research team as the Senior Clinical Psychotherapist and play a key role in delivering psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy for opioid use disorder within clinical trials by the Computational Neuroscience Laboratory and the Addiction and Impulsivity Research Group. This position implements the psychotherapy component of psilocybin treatment, supporting participants through preparation, dosing and integration phases according to protocols and ethical standards. Working in a multidisciplinary research environment, the role ensures therapeutic rigour, participant safety and trial integrity.
The position collaborates with physicians, researchers and coordinators to deliver high-quality psychotherapeutic care aligned with clinical and research goals. Responsibilities include participant screening, psychological risk assessment and documenting clinical outcomes for regulatory and scientific reporting. The role also manages the development and implementation of clinical processes and performance indicators to support the research group’s success and compliance.
This role requires postgraduate qualifications and extensive experience in psychotherapy for addiction, trauma or complex mental health conditions. Clinical Psychology endorsement with AHPRA is also essential, along with strong expertise in psychological risk assessment and managing altered states of consciousness. The position also demands advanced planning, communication and analytical skills and the ability to work ethically and effectively in innovative treatment settings.
