Description

The Division of Medicine & Integrated Care, based at the Hammersmith Hospital, is looking for a Band 7 Senior Clinical Research Nurse to collaborate, oversee the delivery of research trials, and manage the staff working on them. This is a fixed-term maternity cover, full-time post providing the opportunity for an enthusiastic, hardworking and highly motivated individual to be involved with the continuing development of our study portfolio and the clinical research delivery team supporting several specialties, including Dermatology, Metabolic & Endocrine, Rheumatology, Respiratory, Neurology as well as other areas of interest.
This is a dynamic opportunity for a successful applicant to gain managerial expertise while utilising their research skills to support the research delivery team alongside senior clinical staff and the Principal Investigators. Although based in the Hammersmith Hospital (Hammersmith House), the post-holder may expect to work across both St Mary’s and the Charing Cross hospitals.
The post will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check at an enhanced level (replaces the Criminal Records Bureau).
The post holder will support the aims of the Trust and the NIHR clinical research network to improve the speed, quality, and integration of clinical research, through the successful delivery of clinical research in the NHS. The post holder will ensure that any research undertaken safeguards the well-being of research participants and is conducted to ICH Good Clinical Practice.
The post holder is a recognised expert in one or more specialities and in the field of clinical research, providing advice, care and support to patients entering clinical trials. He/she will take responsibility for the planning, development and implementation of the clinical research portfolio that reflects the patient population, the work and interests of the local clinical teams. The main focus of the role will be to take a leading role in the management of care pathways for patients and carers participating in research, ensuring that the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of care delivery. You will provide expert support to colleagues through the research study process, from grant application, to feasibility, to clinical pathways, to study delivery. You will work collaboratively with the research teams and the wider multidisciplinary team and act as a professional role model, providing clinical care and teaching to staff researchers, research participants and patients.
