About the job

For a recognized clinical or scientific leader with deep expertise in retinal disease and ophthalmic drug development.

• YOUR IMPACTDrive early clinical translation and trial design, to achieve progress of the preclinical research projects towards an early clinical development pipeline.
• Own the design, operational execution, and budgeting of the early development programs across multiple assets, including selection and governance of external partners (CROs, academic institutions, thought leaders, regulators) ensuring high-quality execution and scientific rigor.
• Define and lead the early development strategy, pipeline and clinical development plan, in close partnership with the Head of Medical Science & Regulatory Affairs, and the management team.
• Contribute to and influence new assets portfolio strategy to build a leading R&D pipeline; contribute to investment decisions at management and company board level.
• Act as clinical research ambassador, fostering alignment and collaborations, both within the company and externally.

• YOUR PROFILEMD or PhD in medicine, biology, molecular biology, biochemistry
• Deep expertise in retina and ophthalmic drug development
• Hands-on experience in running early development clinical trials, ideally in retina ophthalmology: study design, trial operations, data collection, interpretation, and reporting, adherence to ICH-GCP/GLP guidelines, applicable regulations and interactions with health authorities (FDA, EMA)
• Direct experience with preparation and review of briefing packages, scientific advice interactions, and regulatory submissions (e.g. IND, NDA)
• Experience in collaborating with clinical investigators and research sites, CROs and external partners
• Effective communicator and team player. Ability to present complex concepts to cross-functional teams, governance committees and stakeholders.
