SENIOR CLOUD APPLICATION AND DATA DEVELOPER:

On behalf of our Healthcare client, Procom is searching for a Senior Cloud Application and Data Developer for a 6 month contract role. This position is remote with the client’s office located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

SENIOR CLOUD APPLICATION AND DATA DEVELOPER - JOB DESCRIPTION:

Seeking a senior Cloud application and data developer to help in building a new analytical data files management platform that is scalable, supports proper data governance, and enables efficient and secure workflows. The developer will be part of the Analytical Data Platform Transformation project team.

SENIOR CLOUD APPLICATION AND DATA DEVELOPER - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • Strong experience in AWS Data Analytics services including AWS Lake Formation, AWS Glue, AWS EMR with Apache Spark/PySpark, Amazon S3, and Amazon Athena and/or Redshift.
  • Proficiency in Python (PySpark, boto3) and SQL.
  • Knowledge of data lakehouse and data mesh architectural patterns.
  • Experience with data classification, metadata tagging, and sensitive data protection.
  • Familiarity with CloudTrail, CloudWatch, and audit logging for compliance.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins).
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation).

SENIOR CLOUD APPLICATION AND DATA DEVELOPER – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Experience with Databricks, Apache Iceberg, or Delta Lake.
  • Exposure to Varonis, Collibra, or similar data security/governance tools.
  • Familiarity with PHIPA or other health data compliance frameworks.
  • Experience in data observability and lineage tracking.
  • Background in healthcare analytics or large-scale government data systems.
Responsibilities
  • Design data storage, data access management, auditing and logging, and monitoring components under the direction of lead architect and IAM architect.
  • Implement, test, and deploy the components.
