Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join the National Security and Defence Professional Services team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing and managing complex AWS solutions that meet customer technical requirements and mission objectives. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess existing environments, propose migration strategies and deliver secure, scalable and resilient cloud architectures. As a trusted advisor, you will provide technical leadership, share best practices and contribute to capability uplift across customer teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex, scalable and secure AWS solutions tailored to customer needs
• Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting and engineering support throughout project delivery
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective migration strategies
• Act as a trusted advisor on cloud trends, emerging technologies and best practices
• Mentor internal and customer teams, contributing reusable artefacts and knowledge sharing
• Support enterprise cloud adoption initiatives across Defence and National Security domains

Education/Certifications Required

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering or related discipline (preferred)
• AWS Professional level certification (highly desirable)

Knowledge/Skills Required

• 7+ years' experience in technical specialist, design or architecture roles
• Strong experience in cloud based solutions (AWS or equivalent)
• Experience across systems, networking and operating systems
• Experience designing and implementing serverless distributed solutions
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C# or Rust
• Strong stakeholder engagement and consulting capability
• Experience in Defence or National Security environments (highly desirable)
