The position is advertised as full-time or part-time. This role is based in Berlin. Remote work is possible, but regular on-site presence is required to collaborate closely with your team.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

• Completed studies in computer science, STEM, or a comparable field.
• Minimum five years of relevant professional experience in cloud engineering, data engineering, or software development (this is not an entry-level position).
• Solid programming experience in a modern language (e.g., Python, Java, Typescript).
• In-depth knowledge of cloud providers AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with IaC frameworks (e.g., Terraform, AWS CDK, AWS CloudFormation).
• Experience with Apache Spark, SQL, relational databases, or comparable technologies.
• A customer-centric mindset: you focus on impact and value for internal stakeholders, care about their needs, feedback, and success—and reflect this in the solutions you build.

• Together with your team of 5 experienced Cloud and Data Engineers, you design and implement the new data processing platform that will standardize the processing of all data products at idealo.
• You take joint end-to-end responsibility for the design, development, and operation of data platform components that ensure reliable and scalable data processing.
• Help us build and shape data into a strategic asset. As part of our supporting functions, we deliver the right tools for the Data Engineers and Analysts to ensure the freshness of business KPIs and actionable insights that drive core activities and create significant business impact.
• Data correctness is a top priority of idealo, and we are a big part of it – we enable technically and operationally new ways to ensure the quality of data until it reaches the end customer.
• Act like an owner and execute the whole software engineering workflow.
• Be an advocate for the data platform inside and outside your team.
