SENIOR CLOUD ENGINEER – GCP:

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Senior Cloud Engineer – GCP for a 4-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

SENIOR CLOUD ENGINEER – GCP - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The project involves supporting the bank’s Cloud Acceleration Program (CAP) initiative by focusing on Google Cloud Storage solutions. This includes migrating virtual machines from a private cloud environment to Google Cloud environments, and the role is pivotal in the initial phases of this long-term program.

SENIOR CLOUD ENGINEER – GCP - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with GCP
  • 3+ years of Terraform coding experience
  • 1-2 years of cloud operations and administration experience with GCP
  • 5+ years in Infrastructure Operations, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering Operations
  • Proficiency in development/scripting languages, container-based technologies, config management tools, CI/CD tools, and Infrastructure as Code

SENIOR CLOUD ENGINEER – GCP – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Unix administration skills
  • DevOps experience
  • GCNV experience
  • GCS experience
  • Persistent Storage solutions experience
Responsibilities
  • Support the bank’s CAP initiative with Google Cloud Storage solutions
  • Create Infrastructure as Code (IaC) code, automation, policies, and patterns
  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud platforms and components
  • Provide technical ownership/leadership of a component of a larger product
  • Design, implement, and refactor code, primarily in Go and Python
  • Ensure software meets high availability, integrity, reliability, security, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with lead engineers and architects to scope and estimate tasks
  • Work with application teams for onboarding onto the platform
  • Participate in planning, retrospective sessions, and stand-ups
  • Provide mentorship, peer review, and code review
