AWS CLOUD ENGINEER

• Location: split time between main facility and government customer location

• Salary: $130,000-180,000 per year

OVERVIEW:

• Insight Global is looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer with a solid background in Department of Defense cloud technology (AWS), Python programming, and Linux. The candidate will play a central role in engineering new cloud infrastructure and optimizing existing cloud services for our client.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Support the development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS.
• Enhance, optimize, and increase the robustness of the existing code base through strong systems integration skills.
• Use modern tools to define, build, and manage virtual infrastructure in the cloud.
• Design and implement core architecture and capabilities for software from prototype to operational applications.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience: 9+ years in Cloud Engineering
• Includes cloud operations, management, design, and development of cloud-based applications.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• AWS Knowledge: Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) for infrastructure deployment and management.
• Experience:
• 3+ years with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Proficient in Python and Linux Command Line.
• Experience designing, building, and managing infrastructure per DoD Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) and DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (DoD CC SRG).
• Experience automating cloud configurations using tools like Terraform, AWS Config, Ansible, etc.
• Autonomy: Ability to work independently while identifying areas for improvement.
• Collaboration: Capable of working alongside existing platform architects for long-term and strategic architectural changes.
• Networking: Strong understanding of cloud networking best practices.
