Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join a Federal Program located in Washington, DC. The Cloud Engineer will lead the design, optimization, and security of cloud infrastructure, ensuring high performance, automation, and compliance within a mission-critical federal environment.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SENIOR CLOUD ENGINEER INCLUDE:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in cloud optimization, scalability, and cost-efficiency strategies
  • Strong background in cloud security, including vulnerability mitigation and compliance support
  • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting to streamline cloud operations and reduce manual tasks
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and performance monitoring
  • Ability to gather and translate technical requirements into functional cloud architectures
  • Skilled in developing and executing cloud solution roadmaps aligned with business objectives
  • Experience collaborating with security teams to support system accreditation and compliance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on improving system uptime and reliability
  • Excellent communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Must have an active DOE Q clearance or Top Secret clearance
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and evaluate cloud-based systems and applications, integrating with cloud service providers using engineering and analytical principles.
  • Monitor system performance and availability; troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and align solutions with architectural goals.
  • Execute technical tasks for implementing and maintaining shared enterprise cloud infrastructure.
  • Create design specifications and support delivery of cloud architecture and related project outputs.
  • Develop and implement cloud solution roadmaps that support business strategy and objectives.
  • Partner with security teams to ensure accreditation and compliance of new architectures and applications.
