JOB SUMMARY:

Zachary Piper Solution is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join a dynamic team of cloud experts on-site in Lorton, VA. The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer will leverage advanced cloud and data technologies to enhance service delivery for our clients.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SENIOR CLOUD ENGINEER:

  • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Must obtain a CompTIA Security+ (or a higher-level security certification) within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Proficiency in Azure Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevSecOps tools (Bicep, ARM, PowerShell, CLI).
  • Preferred experience in C4 and SAP network environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, data and AI, security, and business application design and implementation.
  • Strong self-management skills to maintain workloads and ensure adequate support for all systems and applications within the operational boundary.
  • Active U.S. Government Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required
Responsibilities
  • Act as the Enclave Administrator (EA) for our clients, overseeing the deployment and upkeep of Mission Enclave infrastructure along with all application-related tasks within the Mission Enclave environment.
  • Monitor system health, focusing on Azure Solution System Health, application availability, and capacity management.
  • Manage operational systems by handling trouble tickets—logging, rerouting, addressing, and escalating as necessary.
  • Execute troubleshooting and remediation efforts, collaborating with System Owners, Product Teams, and Migration Teams to resolve issues effectively.
  • Engage in planning meetings and technical presentations with client project leads and team members.
  • Assess technical requirements and devise efficient solutions.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on all systems and applications, including patching, vulnerability management, and addressing end-of-life replacements.
  • Implement approved configuration updates and escalate for high-level architectural changes when needed.
  • Assign and oversee application-related duties to the Customer Mission Applications Administrator (MAA) role, enabling them to manage applications within their enclave.
  • Collaborate closely with clients as a shared technical lead, ensuring timely development, analysis, and deployment that meets client specifications.
