SAIC is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure to support machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) workloads within the Army Intelligence & Security Enterprise (AISE). This role will focus on ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency of cloud environments while enabling seamless integration of AI/ML solutions. The Senior Cloud Engineer will collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver mission-critical cloud capabilities. Job Duties: Design and implement cloud-based infrastructure to support AI/ML workloads and real-time analytics. Optimize cloud environments for scalability, security, and cost-efficiency. Collaborate with ML engineers and data scientists to deploy and manage machine learning models in the cloud. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Ensure compliance with security protocols and governance policies for cloud-based systems. Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance. Stay updated on advancements in cloud technologies and best practices for AI/ML workloads. Support the operational integration of AI/ML solutions to enhance intelligence capabilities. Required Education: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD or JD and zero (0) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree. Qualifications: Experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms and tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Experience with leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT, or similar frameworks for tasks like natural language processing (NLP), text generation, summarization, or conversational AI. Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills. Desired Qualifications: Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. Experience with hybrid cloud environments and edge computing. Familiarity with Army Intelligence Enterprise data requirements and workflows. Knowledge of MLOps practices and tools for deploying and maintaining AI/ML models. Clearance: Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Poly.
