This opportunity is for those who design cloud systems from first principles, and who understand that architectural decisions don’t just solve problems, they shape entire engineering organizations. We’re looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer with research-level understanding of distributed systems, someone who is equally comfortable reasoning about consistency, failure domains and scaling limits as they are building production platforms that support AI-driven, data-intensive and safety-critical systems. The role is based in the USA and requires relocation. What you’ll do – Design and evolve cloud platforms for large-scale data ingestion and processing – Build end-to-end pipelines: edge/system → cloud → analytics / ML → deployment – Reason about consistency models, failure modes, scalability and observability – Design DevOps / DevSecOps foundations as system properties, not afterthoughts – Own long-term architectural decisions used by multiple senior engineering teams – Collaborate closely with engineers working on AI, autonomy and embedded systems What you bring – Research-level understanding of distributed systems, cloud platforms or data infrastructure – Ability to explain why an architecture works, not just how it is implemented – Experience designing platforms that others build entire products or programs on – Strong grounding in reliability, security, data lineage and system evolution – Comfort acting as technical authority in ambiguous, high-impact environments – Willingness to relocate to the USA Who you are With your extensive experience in the field and history of building for large scale, you think globally, not locally.
