JOB DESCRIPTION

At Vector, we’re not just upgrading infrastructure—we’re transforming how energy is delivered and experienced. Backed by a $4.6 billion investment over the next decade, we’re modernising our electricity distribution network and embedding smart, digital technologies across everything we do. This is the heart of our Symphony Strategy: a bold move toward a cleaner, more resilient, and more responsive energy future.
But this transformation goes far beyond the grid. As a technology-enabled organisation, data is at the core of our evolution. We’re building intelligent platforms and products that turn information into action—enabling better decisions, unlocking innovation, and delivering real value to customers and communities.
To support this vision, we’re seeking a talented Engineer to join our high-performing team.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Senior Cloud & Platform Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the delivery, reliability, scalability, and resiliency of Vector’s cloud systems. You’ll lead the technical operations of our cloud infrastructure, working closely with internal teams—including the wider digital and network operations teams—and external partners to ensure our platforms are secure, efficient, and future-ready.
This is a hands-on role that blends technical leadership with operational excellence. You’ll play a key part in shaping our DevOps practices, automating infrastructure, and supporting the systems that power our digital transformation.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Leading the day-to-day delivery of cloud and platform engineering activities.
  • Managing production and development environments, including updates and cybersecurity compliance.
  • Driving automation across infrastructure lifecycle, observability, and disaster recovery.
  • Supporting and improving public cloud systems, with a strong focus on AWS.
  • Collaborating with digital teams, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve and prioritise issues.
  • Building and maintaining documentation, support procedures, and knowledge transfer processes.
  • Participating in long-term strategy and scalability planning across the enterprise.
  • Supporting the deployment of software updates, patches, and configuration changes.
