The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Cloud Solution Architect to join the team in Kent, WA; Hazelwood, MO; Berkeley, MO; Mesa, AZ; North Charleston, SC; or Seattle, WA.
We’re seeking a highly talented, motivated, and creative cloud solution architect to engineer new cloud solutions and support existing capabilities within our Managed Print Services Team. This role needs someone who can quickly understand operational needs, define requirements, support the technical design and its implementation, and ensure durable success with sustainability front-of-mind.
Success in this role requires strong skills in Agile methods, Software Engineering, Data Architecture, and Continuous Integration/Deliver (CI-CD). You should feel comfortable solutioning and helping deliver a cloud-agnostic solution in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure that can be relied on for the Enterprise print environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing software using Python, C/C++, C# and/or Java
  • 5+ years of experience in database design/development
  • 5+ years of experience with Product Lifecycle (development, deployment, modification and support)
  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, coding, testing, and debugging system software
  • 3+ years of experience working in a cloud computing environment e.g. Azure/AWS/Google Cloud

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Current cloud certifications (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud technologies (ex. Amazon Web Services, Azure)
  • Experience with API first integration
  • Experience working with Cloud-Agnostic and/or Open-Source tools (ex. Kubernetes, Apache Foundation)
  • Experience using cloud-based infrastructure (AWS)
  • Experience using automation server (Jenkins)
  • Experience with Agile or SAFe practices, including daily standup, User Stories, Sprints, and Release Planning
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Java, HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, Firebug and JS frameworks (REACT, jQuery, jQuery UI, Open Layers, etc.), Spring Framework, Hibernate, RDBMS, MongoDB, XML, SOAP, REST, WSDL/Web Service protocols
Responsibilities
  • Leads design and deployment of complex cloud-based solutions across multiple work streams leveraging Cloud Service Provider (CSP) native services
  • Directs implementation of cloud services and integration with in-house applications and systems
  • Delivers and supports infrastructure-as-code solutions of high complexity across different work streams focused on full application stack, including infrastructure and software
  • Manages software development tasks including detailed software design, coding, and testing of desired features/user stories
  • Analyzes, integrates and refines strategic requirements
  • Designs and demonstrates software release functionality to peers
  • Troubleshoots and resolves various software issues
  • Contributes to the creation of new distributed components and interactions that align with the future system architecture
  • Researches, develops, documents and deploys emerging technologies and techniques
  • Works with other IT professionals to ensure requirements are met
  • Supports product demonstrations, value propositions and represents/promotes IT products internally
