Description Senior Cloud Administrator (Corporate IT) Location: Fairfax, VA Onsite Position Overview The Senior Cloud Administrator – Corporate IT is responsible for the administration, security, and ongoing optimization of the organization’s corporate IT systems and cloud services, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure. This role supports internal corporate users and systems and operates within the security, compliance, and operational standards expected of a government contracting environment. The Senior Cloud Administrator serves as a technical leader within Corporate IT, providing advanced support, system oversight, and guidance to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable internal IT operations. Requirements Key Responsibilities Cloud & Systems Administration Administer, monitor, and optimize Azure-based and corporate IT systems to ensure availability, performance, and reliability. Support the deployment, maintenance, patching, and lifecycle management of corporate servers and services. Plan and execute improvements and migrations of corporate systems to cloud-based platforms as appropriate. Partner with infrastructure and security teams to support on-site technical activities that require local presence, including deployments, troubleshooting, and hardware installations. Maintain appropriate separation between corporate IT systems and customer or contract-specific environments. Identity, Access & Endpoint Management Administer Azure Active Directory and Active Directory, including user provisioning, access controls, RBAC, Conditional Access, and Group Policy. Enforce security best practices such as least-privilege access and role-based administration. Support endpoint management, remote access solutions, and corporate user device deployments. Configure and maintain PCs, printers, peripherals, and enterprise software for corporate users. Network & Systems Operations Install, configure, and maintain corporate networking equipment, including wireless access points and Layer 2 switches. Serve as an escalation point for complex system, network, and cloud-related issues impacting corporate operations. Maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and standard operating procedures. Security, Compliance & Risk Management Ensure corporate IT systems comply with company security policies and applicable regulatory or contractual requirements. Support internal audits, assessments, and documentation related to corporate IT controls. Monitor systems for vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and performance issues; implement corrective actions. Coordinate with security and compliance teams to maintain a secure corporate IT environment. Leadership & Continuous Improvement Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior administrators and help desk personnel. Take ownership of corporate IT projects from planning through implementation. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance security, reliability, and efficiency. Promote consistent, documented, and repeatable IT operational practices. Required Qualifications 3–5+ years of experience in cloud administration, systems administration, or infrastructure support in an enterprise environment. CompTIA Security + required Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft-based enterprise systems. Experience with Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2016/2019. Working knowledge of: Azure Active Directory Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) Conditional Access policies On-prem Active Directory and Group Policy Solid understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of technical responsibilities. Ability to obtain and maintain any required government security clearance (this requires US Citizenship) Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting corporate IT environments within a government contracting organization. Familiarity with federal security or compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, CMMC). Experience supporting cloud migrations or platform modernization efforts. Prior experience in a consulting or advisory role. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred, not required).
