Job Description
As a Senior CloudOps Engineer, you will be solving problems and partnering with our clients to help them build and modernise their applications, develop good practices and get the most out of their technology landscape. The role will investigate, identify, and resolve issue, while aiming to improve the scalability and reliability of solutions and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Additionally, the role requires providing performance, security, monitoring, troubleshooting and cost optimization recommendations for cloud services, enabling greater process efficiencies and improvements, as well as capability enhancements.
As a Senior Cloud Ops Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Cloud Operations team, responsible for managing creative cloud solutions for our clients. In this role, you’ll provide technical leadership and support to your team members to ensure operational excellence and improve the overall customer experience with cloud-based platforms.
A positive, can-do attitude, combined with strong team spirit, planning, and communication skills, you will be key to your success. You will be collaborating with business and technology stakeholders to build strong relationships. You will work closely with other operations staff, engineering and client services to ensure cloud services are available 24 x 7.

Qualifications

  • Managed Services experience preferred as primary responsibilities are BAU support
  • Ability to support AWS cloud with several years’ experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in AWS as a senior engineer.
  • Operating at a level 3 capacity for several years.
  • Significant years of experience working within a Microsoft Environment.
  • Hands on with Microsoft/Linux
  • Customer support - prior experience with state or federal governments.
  • A demonstrated history of taking initiative and understanding of operating in a compliance environment and understanding/experience of Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF)
  • Proficient with automation using Power shell/UNIX shell/Ansible/Fabric.
  • Exceptional Consulting and Communication Skills.
  • Ability to interpret and present results to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and control workload.
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills and a successful track record in building strong relationships with business and technology stakeholder.

Client Engagement

  • Direct Interaction: engineers need to interact directly with customers helps build empathy and understanding of their needs1.
  • Customer-Centric Culture: Establishing a culture that prioritizes customer needs from the start ensures that products are designed with the user in mind2.
  • Feedback Loops: Creating continuous feedback loops between customers and NCS that helps in refining and improving products based on real user experiences3.
  • Cost Awareness: Involving customer in cloud cost optimization processes can lead to more efficient and cost-effective solutions4.
  • Asking the Right Questions: Instead of jumping straight into technical solutions, engineers ask probing questions. What are the pain points? What outcomes are desired? What constraints exist (e.g., budget, compliance)?
  • Empathy: Empathizing with the customer’s challenges helps build trust as technology serves people, not the other way around.
