QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 5+ years of experience with CNC lathes, mills, and screw machines
  • 5+ years of CNC programming using SolidCAM and SolidWorks (or similar CAD/CAM platforms)
  • Strong knowledge of G-code, tool paths, fixture design, feeds/speeds
  • Experience leading or supervising in a production or job shop environment
  • Proficiency with measuring tools and inspection techniques
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have 5-axis and Swiss/screw machine machining experience
  • Experience with HAAS lathes, mills, and UMC machines is a plus
  • Robot programming experience highly desired
Responsibilities

CNC Programming & Process Development

  • Program CNC lathes, mills, and screw machines using SolidCAM and SolidWorks.
  • Determine tooling, feeds, speeds, and fixture needs to efficiently machine prototype and production parts.
  • Continuously improve and optimize machining operations through G-code adjustments and process refinement.
  • Design custom fixtures as needed and coordinate implementation into machining operations.
  • Maintain accurate and complete setup documentation and routings for new and existing parts.

Shop Operations & Team Leadership

  • Assist the machine shop manager to oversee daily shop floor activities and assist with operator training, setup, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical supervision and mentoring to machinists and operators across all shifts.
  • Monitor production yields, identify and correct inefficiencies, and ensure quality compliance.
  • Support preventive maintenance and 5S housekeeping standards across the department.
  • Coordinate scheduling and raw material/tooling needs to meet production timelines.
  • Serve as backup machinist as needed to meet urgent demands or fill production gaps.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all machining operations meet company quality standards and tolerances.
  • Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.) to verify component dimensions.
  • Enforce safety procedures, company policies, and proper documentation standards.
  • Support employee development activities, including performance feedback and training recommendations.
