JOB OVERVIEW:

APTIM, a leading engineering firm with a global presence and a thriving Coastal Engineering practice, is pleased to announce an immediate opening for a Senior Engineer / Program Manager for government clients. This position has tremendous growth and career development potential for a passionate and experienced engineer. The candidate selected will report to a Director of the Coastal, Ports, and Marine Division and have the opportunity manage challenging restoration projects in the Gulf States. This position will also assist with marketing plans for growing our Coastal, Ports and Marine Services business line and be a strategic addition to our well-established team of highly qualified engineers and scientists.
The position is a broad-based engineering management position with a concentration in design projects involving client contact, marketing and sales, feasibility analyses, engineering designs, limited computer modeling, report preparation, permitting and construction engineering services, at a minimum.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Coastal, Ports, and Marine experience required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required
  • 10 years of experience in Louisiana required, also Texas preferred
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Demonstrated technical and analytical skills in designing projects
  • Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication skills suitable to a consulting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to fluently communicate in spoken and written English
  • Have a passion for working in a consulting firm environment on various types of projects
  • Experience with preparation of proposals, selection presentations and business development
  • Willingness to travel in support of business and project activities

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $135K-$165K. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the business unit and service line Directors with marketing strategies for the Coastal, Ports, and Marine service line
  • Lead project teams in conducting the design process for engineering projects from conceptual design to detailed designs including plans, specifications and construction documents
  • Perform project management activities in a lead role being responsible for scope, budget and schedule working in close coordination with project team, sub-consultants and clients
  • Design, manage and contribute to field programs and field data analysis
  • Define numerical modeling needs; provide guidance to the numerical modeling team and QA/QC numerical modeling results.
  • Serve as mentor to staff to seek continuous improvement though implementation of lessons learned and constructive annual performance evaluations
  • Participate in business development activities, write proposals and prepare selection presentations
