In this role, you will play a pivotal role within Commercial Analytics, supporting UK Insurance commercial leaders to support commercial strategy, identify growth opportunities, assess profitability and evaluate the impact of commercial initiatives. Your work will combine advanced analytics, statistical techniques and commercial judgement, translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders. How you’ll help us make health happen: Act as a trusted analytics business partner, shaping strategic and tactical commercial decisions. Design and embed a repeatable approach to measuring commercial impact, identifying revenue growth, cost efficiencies and value creation. Lead analysis of customer behaviour, revenue, margin and cost drivers to surface risks, trends and opportunities. Apply advanced analytics, including predictive modelling where appropriate, to optimise commercial performance. Own evaluation of commercial initiatives using robust statistical and analytical methods, translating results into clear recommendations. Serve as a subject matter expert in enterprise data, data modelling and cross‑business logic for commercial insight. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior analysts, ensuring high‑quality delivery and best practice. Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role Analytical skills: Experienced Senior / Analyst experience (essential) Exceptional analytical thinking abilities, capable of sound decision-making, and able to understand wider business issues without losing sight of the detail. Demonstrate innovative, lateral, and creative thinking and have the broad knowledge and commercial aptitude to contribute ideas on all aspects of the organisation. Technical skills: Proficient in at least one coding language (SQL, Python, SAS, R, …) and a demonstrable ability to learn new technologies. (essential) Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint. (essential) Experience in developing and using statistical models and techniques to analyse data and draw conclusions. (essential) Experience using visualisation software such as PowerBI, Tableau and/or R-Markdown (essential) Experience utilisation statistical techniques to evaluate real world causality using administrative data. (desired) Leadership skills: Leaderships and ownership: the individual will have strong sense of ownership, deep experience of working as lead analyst on large & complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and complex technologies. Influence and lead: the individual will possess gravitas to influence and lead decision making for business colleagues and to oversee the work of junior members of the team. Self-motivation: the individual will take initiative, with the ability to stay focused to produce high quality work with minimal supervision Communication skills: Strong stakeholder management skills, where complex solutions are communicated in a clear and concise manner and tailored to the audience. Influential storytelling: ability to convey complex data in a compelling narrative. Highly effective interpersonal skills with a clear, concise, and relevant communication style.
