THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a SENIOR COMMERCIAL CONTRACTS MANAGER to join our DIAGNOSTICS DIVISION. This position works out of our Maidenhead. We are focused on delivering diagnostic excellence through strategic partnerships, innovative supply chain solutions, and robust contract management.
As the SENIOR COMMERCIAL CONTRACTS MANAGER, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading contract strategy, supplier relationship management, and commercial negotiations. You’ll support margin delivery, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance across a diverse supplier and customer base, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to drive operational excellence.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in Business Management or related field
  • Master’s degree or MCIPS certification
  • Quality audit experience (desirable)
  • Broad understanding of the diagnostics industry and NHS (desirable)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in supplier relationship and contract management
  • Strong financial evaluation and commercial risk assessment skills
  • Knowledge of strategic pricing models and total cost frameworks
  • Advanced negotiation skills and procurement principles
  • Deep understanding of Public Sector Procurement Regulations and Contract Law
  • Experience with corporate regulations and effective contract creation
  • Familiarity with product development timelines and constraints
  • Strategic sourcing experience at regional or global level
Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic contracting for products and services across the supply chain
  • Develop and execute supplier strategies, including risk and category management
  • Manage escalations and disputes related to managed service contracts
  • Oversee asset management processes and contract obligations
  • Deliver annual margin and savings targets
  • Provide consultancy on tender processes, contract law, and value-for-money initiatives
  • Conduct risk analysis at tender and contract signing stages
  • Ensure governance and compliance with regulatory and industry standards
  • Support implementation and change control for new contracts
  • Develop business continuity and risk assessment plans
  • Drive process improvement and regulatory compliance through project-based initiatives
