JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Commercial Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating the financial condition and creditworthiness of commercial loan applicants, including complex lending relationships. This role supports the bank’s lending decisions by preparing detailed credit analyses and risk assessments and making recommendations aligned with the bank’s credit policy. The Senior Analyst also mentors junior analysts and serves as a subject matter expert in financial analysis and commercial lending structures.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Banking commercial credit analysis or commercial lending.
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, and lending principles.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements including loan classification, risk ratings, and commercial loan policy.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with financial analysis software and tools (e.g., Moody’s, Sageworks, Excel).
Responsibilities
  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, and collateral of commercial loan applicants to assess creditworthiness
  • Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda and risk ratings for new and existing commercial loan relationships.
  • Recommend loan structures, terms, and conditions based on financial risk, industry trends, and regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with commercial lenders, loan operations, and credit committees to facilitate timely credit decisions.
  • Conduct industry and market research to evaluate external risks affecting borrowers and portfolios.
  • Assist in loan portfolio management, including periodic reviews, covenant tracking, and risk grading adjustments.
  • Ensure credit files are complete and comply with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior analysts, supporting professional development and analytical quality.
  • Participate in the development and refinement of credit policies, underwriting standards, and risk management tools.
  • Support internal and external audit and regulatory examination processes.
