Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Senior Commercial Financial Administrator to support the commercial team on our clean water contract with Severn Trent Water. You will be supporting the existing Quantity Surveying team in daily commercial and contractual aspects.

RESPONSIBILITIES - BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Review subcontractor applications in collaboration with site managers
  • Build and submit applications for payment to the Client
  • Make weekly accruals and payments
  • Respond to Client queries, working with site managers for quick resolution
  • Create reports in excel
  • Update data and information in excel as and when required, with good understanding of formulas etc.
  • Ensuring proper contractual administration of contract/project assigned, including value and cost control, and maintenance of contemporaneous records
  • Accurately value works undertaken and where necessary provide records to substantiate cost to allow prompt issue of application for payment/invoice in line with contractual timescales
  • Ensure change control process is managed effectively, including production of early warnings/variations, maximising entitlement
  • Preparation of financial statements in respect to projects/contracts assigned, working with operational teams to confirm understanding of financial position, proactively instilling commercial awareness throughout the wider business.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE:

  • Degree in Business & Finance or working towards a qualification
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment where attention to detail is crucial
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work in a team
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Previous experience and knowledge of utilities would be highly advantageous
