Kevin Liu - Head of Commercial Growth MWC Shanghai About the Team You will join the highly successful and professional MWC Shanghai sales team based in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong. This team are part of the wider global event sales team that includes London, Barcelona and Atlanta. In turn you will be supported by other functional global teams including sales support, operations, marketing and finance. By leveraging the GSMA and MWC event series resources, you have the opportunity to collaboratively work with our technology teams, regional teams, and other event sales team to sell your event. About the role This is a Senior Commercial Growth Manager position focused on MWC Shanghai – Asia’s premier technology event. The ideal candidate will bring strong stakeholder influence and proven IT/ICT sales expertise, with a core remit to develop high-growth key sectors and strategic accounts across Smart Manufacturing & Smart Driving, Commercial Aerospace, and AI. Using your excellent networking and communications skills you will utilize the GSMA’s reach and influence to source connections and new clients for MWC Shanghai. Working independently and with minimal supervision you will ensure your activity and pipeline will meet and exceed your personal sales targets. About You An experienced sales professional from the following backgrounds preferred: across Smart Manufacturing & Smart Driving, Commercial Aerospace, and AI. Hunter style sales approach who is results driven and can close deals effectively and under pressure Able to develop strong relationships with all levels from C-suite to key execution contacts Able to research and identify opportunities and use CRM database (such as salesforce), social networks etc. to find new sales opportunities Able to create and write complex proposals fully harnessing the breadth of an event opportunity A team player that works collaboratively in a matrix organization Highly self-motived and can work independently in a hybrid working environment Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills Fluent in both mandarin and English, and write emails with clarity About your skills Communication, Delivery, Influence, Stakeholder Management and Commercial Awareness are key skills for this role.
