About the role
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Commercial Manager to join our team working on the Lower Thames Crossing Roads North project.
Role Purpose:
The Senior Commercial Manager reports to and deputises for the Project Commercial Director on the Lower Thames Crossing Roads North valued at over £1.2Bn. Responsible for the financial management of this major, complex project through the development phase and through construction. They are an integral part of the project management team where they hold key responsibilities associated with the commercial and financial success of each project developing and implementing the project commercial strategy. Senior Commercial manager roles are broad and includes anything from risk management to procurement, financial reporting and managing the supply chain. They will have proven skills in commercial awareness, strategic thinking, client liaison, project management and team leadership. They will also have an extensive understanding of the construction industry, flexibility and a talent for negotiation. Typically they will have a track record of managing and developing a commercial team and be themselves a Chartered Member or Fellow of the RICS, ICES or CIOB, and a mentor/role model to other commercial staff on their journey to becoming professionally qualified.

  • Identifies & targets the needs of individuals & self
  • Seeks & gives advice on training & development including professional
  • Determine project commercial staff requirement & liaison with HR for recruitment including temporary staff
  • Interviewing staff for lesser grades

THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS ARE ESSENTIAL:

  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
  • Member or Fellow of RICS, ICES or CIOB
