THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to lead our B2B sports nutrition and gaming drink business and drive the growth of our brands in Germany and Austria. This multifaceted role requires a skilled commercial leader who can combine strategic thinking, operational excellence, and team leadership. The successful candidate will oversee a range of responsibilities, from managing key eCommerce accounts to defining and executing local pricing and trade fund strategies, all while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and finance. The ability to operate independently while ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals is essential.

The Skills you will bring to the team

  • 7+ years experience in Commercial and Sales functions in FMCG industry with some experience in eCommerce and D2C
  • Experience in line management with the ability to lead and develop teams.
  • Fluent in German and English
  • E-commerce Expertise: Several years of experience managing e-commerce customers with a proven record of demonstrating initiative and delivering results.
  • Relentless / Agitator mindset – someone to challenge the status quo, both internally and externally to drive cultural and performance breakthroughs
  • Multifunctional skills, specifically Sales and RGM: knowing how to deal with customers while having a broader skill set than the average Sales person, allowing to cover RGM and portfolio topics as well.
  • Hands-on mentality: Thinking strategically, but willing to get things done by rolling up his/her sleeves.
  • Self-Starter, highly motivated and ambitious.
  • Cultural Awareness: Experience working in diverse teams, with an understanding of the cultural nuances that impact business operations in different regions.
  • Strong Communication and Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making in a multinational environment.
  • Resilience and Patience: Able to drive change and improvement while understanding the pace at which organizational learning occurs.
  • Understanding of the (sports) nutrition and / or health industry is advantageous, but not a requirement
Responsibilities
  • P&L ownership: Responsible for owning and delivering the German/Austrian P&L, including performance reporting and budget management.
  • Account management: Manages a portfolio of 5 key eCommerce customers and 1 distributor within the sports nutrition sector; develops joint business plans including promotion plans, conducts year-end-talks, ensures accurate volume and value forecast in all systems
  • Revenue growth management: Owns local RGM workstreams, including pricing strategies and trade fund management.
  • Portfolio Management: Collaborates closely with the Marketing function to ensure that the product portfolio is optimized for the German and Austrian markets
  • Amazon/D2C local commercial strategy approval: Oversees and approves local commercial plans for Amazon and D2C, ensuring close collaboration with the Marketing/Commercial Director and alignment with the broader market strategy.
  • Strategic Planning and Market Insights: Supports the Marketing/Commercial Director in developing market strategies, annual business planning, and organizational design initiatives; provides insights and market intelligence to help inform both short-term and long-term business decisions.
  • Line management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3 direct reports, fostering a culture of collaboration, performance, and accountability
