Due to the continued success and expansion of our Data Centre business in Germany we are currently recruiting for experienced Senior Commissioning Manager to join our Data Centre team in Düsseldorf. As a Senior Commissioning Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee data centre commissioning activities. You will lead commissioning execution, quality, safety compliance, and turnover to Operations. With a market leading client base and the opportunity to take the lead on strategic commissions and high-profile projects, this is an exciting time to join the business unit and grow a career with Turner & Townsend. Responsibilities: Lead and manage the project commissioning process, including scope, schedule, quality, and risk management. Ensure compliance with the client’s Commissioning Plan and all referenced standards and procedures. Oversee the development, approval, and execution of commissioning scripts, tests, and acceptance procedures Conduct regular site inspections, reviewing QA/QC, commissioning readiness, and construction progress. Ensure commissioning activities align with the Basis of Design, specifications, drawings, and sequences of operation. Manage scripts, track issues, and drive closure in the Management System. Manage the Issue Resolution Log, ensure defects and issues are identified, tracked, and closed in a timely manner. Coordinate commissioning interfaces with vendors, contractors, and project teams. Support change management, RFIs, and submittals from a commissioning perspective. Lead commissioning handover to Operations, ensuring testing, documentation, and issue close‑out readiness. Chair and participate in commissioning and project meetings, producing clear progress reports and KPIs for management; attend and monitoring critical testing events. Report regularly on commissioning scope, schedule, risks, and status across all project phases. Qualifications University degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience 10+ years’ experience in data centre commissioning, operations, or maintenance Strong knowledge of critical electrical and mechanical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear) Proven experience developing commissioning scripts and managing QA/QC Strong communication skills and ability to work independently Strong English and German language skills Proficient in MS Office, Visio, and MS Project Strong analytical, structural, and organizational abilities Excellent interpersonal skills with the capability to communicate effectively at all levels Highly motivated and driven with a passion for delivering to your client Available for on-site work Additional Information Our inspired people share our vision and mission.
