DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE Senior Communication Officer (25260259) The Department of Computer Science is looking for an energetic, innovative, and self-motivated candidate to play a key role in planning and executing the department’s communication strategies to enhance our visibility of academic programmes and research capabilities. Responsibilities: Prepare promotional and marketing materials, including websites, videos, posters, newsletters etc.; Update and maintain the Department’s online media and communications materials; Plan, organise and manage major Departmental projects/events (e.g. Information Day, conferences/seminars and homecoming etc.); Develop strong relationships with alumni groups and different stakeholders; Initiate and lead strategic alumni relations projects/activities; and Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of the Department or his/her delegates. Requirements: A recognised degree with at least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the context of corporate communication and public affairs; with a background in the tertiary education sector being an advantage; Meticulousness, excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of responsibility; Self-motivation with the ability to work independently as well as with a team; An excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Chinese word processing. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test. The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
