Description

Join the Strategic Communications Division and lead the development of strategic, high-impact communications for one of Victoria’s most forward-thinking energy initiatives - the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program.
As Senior Communications and Campaign Adviser, you’ll deliver innovative communications and campaign strategies that drive public understanding and engagement with the VEU program. You’ll champion the value of energy efficiency, support Victorian households and businesses in accessing upgrades, and play a critical role in shaping how this transformative initiative is seen across the state.
This role is ideal for a senior communications and marketing professional who loves working strategically both above and below-the-line, thrives in a fast-paced environment, with expertise in end-to-end campaign management and a sharp eye for performance metrics.

SPECIALIST/TECHNICAL EXPERTISE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • A relevant tertiary degree or industry recognised qualification in communications or public relations (or similar) would be well regarded.
  • Minimum five years’ experience spanning communications, media and marketing.
  • Contemporary knowledge of strategic communications and media channels and processes.
  • Sound knowledge of and experience working in government is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Lead integrated marketing and communications campaigns from strategy to execution across paid, owned and earned channels.
  • Manage relationships with creative partners and media agencies, including coordination of MAMS and AAP processes.
  • Monitor campaign performance, using analytics and user insights to refine messaging and delivery.
  • Provide high-level communications advice to stakeholders across DEECA, government and partner agencies.
  • Develop content for diverse audiences, balancing strategic goals with accessibility and engagement.
  • Identify reputational risks and communication opportunities, tailoring approaches for multiple channels and audiences.
  • Support the Communications Manager, demonstrating leadership and strategic value to secure stakeholder buy-in.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity and cultural safety in all aspects of communication and team collaboration.
