SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS AND EVENTS CO-ORDINATOR

Position Type: Full-time
Location: Our head office is in Ottawa, ON. Remote work from other regions will also be considered.
Career Level: Mid-level
Salary: commensurate with experience

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Communications and Events Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting our organization’s marketing and communications efforts and ensuring successful event execution. This role works closely with other Communications and Marketing staff and involves coordinating various tasks related to events, marketing, communications, and administrative support.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or equivalent experience preferred
  • Designation or equivalent experience in corporate event coordination
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Bilingual in English and French an asset
  • Minimum two (2) years of directly related work experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing, editing/proofreading, and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, solve problems effectively.
  • Creativity and visual design/layout experience.
  • Experience engaging with target audiences on social media
  • Knowledge of Canadian Press Style Guide.
  • Excellent work ethic and initiative.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy.
  • Familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Zoom, WordPress, G4A, InDesign, Canva, Constant Contact, Pheedloop, HubSpot preferred
Responsibilities
  1. Marketing and communications:

Support all aspects of communications and marketing activities, including:

  • Writing and editing communication materials across many digital and print formats.
  • Preparing graphics
  • Website updates
  • Additional duties as assigned
  1. Events:
  • Support end to end coordination of events including planning, preparation and onsite execution.
  • Prepare and pack materials for events, ensure everything is shipped/transported on time. Set up materials at event site, pack and ensure items are returned post-event
  • Track events budgets, reconcile invoices
  • Support all aspects of webinar program delivery (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Additional duties as assigned
