As Senior Communications & Corporate Affairs Manager, you’ll report to the Head of Communications & Brand and play a critical role in protecting and enhancing Allens’ reputation, shaping our narrative, and supporting firm leadership through periods of change, heightened scrutiny and complexity. As a Senior Communications & Corporate Affairs Manager you will also: Contribute to and guide the development of the firm’s external messaging, narrative and stakeholder communications, particularly on firmwide changes and announcements and issues of significance to the firm's reputation. Assess issues and market developments that may present opportunities for or risks to the firm's brand. Act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, including the Managing Partner, COO and Executive team, exercising judgement, discretion and confidence in high-impact scenarios. Plan, prepare and manage stakeholder communications strategies and tactics for a range of audiences and platforms, including through traditional media, social media, speaking engagements and forums and internal channels. Engage with the media on behalf of the firm, as required. Coach and prepare Allens talent for media interactions, panel events and other external appearances. Nurture and grow mutually beneficial relationships with media and other external stakeholders. Take senior ownership of core corporate affairs processes. Provide issues and incident-response communications leadership, including rapid response, stakeholder coordination and media handling during issue or incident-driven scenarios. Lead and coordinate ESG and transparency reporting, providing sustained senior oversight, strong cross-functional leadership and awareness of external trends and stakeholder expectations. Work alongside members of the broader team to drive proactive profiling for the firm and its practices across owned and earned channels. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity. About you You will have: Experience in professional services (legal sector experience highly regarded). Significant senior-level experience in corporate affairs, communications, media relations or reputation management. Exceptional attention to detail and a well-honed risk radar. A passion for brand building and an eye for opportunities to enhance brand value. Demonstrated experience advising senior leadership and executive stakeholders with confidence, discretion and sound judgement. Deep expertise in media relations and issues management, including leading external engagement in sensitive or high-risk scenarios. Proven experience managing communications for incident and rapid-response issues. Strong understanding of ESG and transparency reporting, with the ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to shape clear, credible and consistent messaging. The confidence to operate independently in high-risk environments where judgement and experience are critical. A desire to learn, grow, network and mentor others.
