SUMMARY

C2 Strategic Communications, the region’s largest public relations firm, seeks a Senior Strategist to join our growing firm. Based in Louisville with offices in Lexington, KY and Indianapolis, IN., our firm serves clients and projects throughout Kentucky and Indiana.
The Senior Strategist primarily manages client accounts, develops communications strategies and ensures the quality of client deliverables by guiding Associate and Staff Strategists and ensuring coordination with C2’s Creative Services Team. The Senior Strategist also works with C2’s Client Services Team to ensure client satisfaction, develop and build relationships with current and potential clients, and identify and respond to business opportunities.
The Senior Strategist is expected to lead and manage multiple large communications projects and key accounts as well as support staff development, talent identification and recruitment, and business efforts. Senior Strategist may be assigned management and coaching responsibilities for less-experienced staff.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or related field
  • 10-12 years of experience leading and planning communications and PR strategies, especially in an agency, corporate or public agency setting

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement communications plans, including objectives, strategies, tactics and budgets to meet client needs and reach target audiences
  • Own client relationships, using exceptional organizational and relationship skills
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with leaders and partners
  • Identify key deliverables and manage the process and staffing to achieve them
  • Manage time efficiently to stay on budget according to terms of client contract and the management of employees
  • Oversee creation and quality of deliverables such as news releases, newsletters, web content, speeches, talking points, presentations, other collateral marketing materials, social media posts, proposals, etc.
  • Plan media availabilities, news conferences, public meetings and professional conferences
  • Assist with business development: Track and manage RFP responses, make direct pitches and presentations, build and maintain association relationships, etc.
  • Participate in annual strategic planning for C2
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MORE ABOUT THIS ROLE

  • A typical work week is 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with a one-hour lunch
  • Reliable transportation is required
  • Night and weekend hours, and the occasional travel, may be required but are minimal
  • This position is full-time, exempt and reports to the Senior Director
