About the Role Reporting to the Manager Regulatory Compliance, you will be part of the second line of accountability function, providing oversight, guidance, and challenge across the business. You’ll work closely with teams across Banking, Insurance, and Assistance to ensure compliance frameworks are effective, pragmatic, and aligned with RACQ’s risk appetite. This is a highly collaborative role where your expertise will influence decision-making, strengthen controls, and support the delivery of a mature and effective compliance function. Key Responsibilities Provide expert compliance advice across regulatory obligations, policies, and procedures Support compliance monitoring, reporting, and assurance activities Assist in delivering a risk-based annual compliance assurance program Contribute to the development and embedding of the Group’s compliance framework Partner with stakeholders to balance regulatory requirements with business outcomes Support regulatory licensing frameworks (ASIC, APRA, AUSTRAC) Manage compliance incidents and breach reporting processes Review and approve marketing materials, policies, and business initiatives for compliance Identify trends, risks, and emerging regulatory changes, providing proactive insights Contribute to training and uplift of compliance capability across the organisation About You You’re a confident and pragmatic compliance professional who thrives in a complex regulatory environment. You bring a strong stakeholder mindset and are comfortable influencing, challenging, and partnering with the business. Core Requirements: Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline Extensive experience in compliance, risk, or legal roles within financial services Strong knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks Proven ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory obligations Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability Highly Regarded: Experience working in a second-line compliance function Exposure to banking and/or insurance regulatory environments Understanding of frameworks including APRA, ASIC, AML/CTF, Privacy, NCCP, etc. Familiarity with compliance technology, data analytics, and emerging risk trends Why join RACQ?
