About the Role
Are you passionate about compliance in the financial services industry? BOQ Group is looking for a dedicated Senior Compliance Analyst to join our Group Risk team, sitting within our Compliance space.
As our Senior Analyst in Compliance within second line risk, you will ensure compliance with financial services obligations and manage conduct risks effectively for the retail and business banking divisions within the BOQ Group. In doing so, you’ll partner with these divisions to perform independent reviews, provide compliance advice on initiatives, and help resolve incidents and issues if required.
You will also support the Group in assessing and implementing regulatory changes and performing annual Control Self-Assessments (CSA). You’ll contribute to regular and insightful reporting to senior management on compliance risk profiles, product governance, customer complaints, incidents, issues, and emerging risks.
You’ll engage and provide advise around best practices with stakeholders across the Group ensuring compliance with relevant financial services obligations, including the National Consumer Protection Credit Protection Act, ASIC Act, Corporations Act, and Privacy Act. You’ll also identify and manage conduct risks, contributing to the improvement of processes and controls.
The role also involves building strong, constructive relationships across the Group and engaging with other parts of the Compliance function to ensure effective design, communication, implementation, and embedding of compliance initiatives.
About you

You’ll come armed with proven experience in a similar role, with sound knowledge of financial services, laws and regulations. Demonstrated problem-solving skills using critical thinking techniques and analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail are key to succeeding in this role. A positive and enthusiastic mindset, dedication to continuous improvement and good relationship-building skills across all organisational levels are also important.
