ABOUT THE ROLE

As Senior Compliance Manager, your role is to maintain customs compliance throughout Unipart Aftermarket Logistics, Offering support and advice to other Unipart divisions.

As part of your role, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting site specific accreditations such as US CBP CTPAT, and CAA Known Consignor
  • Completion of process and area audits as per the agreed audit schedule (i.e. Proof of Export, CTPAT, Known Consignor & ISPM-15)
  • Ensuring recommendations from audits are issued to the area manager/client (where appropriate) and implemented
  • Maintaining access to JLR’s and Unipart’s SAP systems to interrogate the master data to assist with import/export queries
  • Supporting customer service in product returns from Global importers & ad hoc queries
  • Supporting multiple clients with regards to import queries
  • Maintaining lines of communication between the Freight and Compliance teams with Unipart operation’s teams
  • Assigning tariff codes to newly introduced products across ULL
  • Completing Duty and Tax analysis for new markets / campaigns within ULL
  • Supporting the Tax and Compliance Team, and the Compliance Manager in particular, in tackling ad hoc compliance issues.
  • Project management and successful implementation of new compliance legislations ensuring Unipart and our clients are fully compliant (i.e. CTU - SOLAS)
  • Reviewing and refining processes in line with Unipart’s passion for continuous improvement
  • Providing a weekly highlight report of all recommendations and countermeasures
  • Acting as subject matter expert for foreign trade, laws and practices
  • Reviewing global tender documents.
  • Recommending correct incoterms and obtain relevant market data entry information (by country) to allow buying to cost accordingly
  • UAT where system changes have been made in the name of compliance

  • Advanced knowledge of UK / EU import and export regulatory compliance
  • Institute of Export membership
  • Advanced Excel skills and SAP
  • Experience in a Freight or Supply Chain environment is essential
  • Degree qualified or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing, including ability to present to senior levels
  • Influencing skills
