Responsibilities · Review and approve move in and annual recertification files prepared by Level II Specialists to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with program guidelines. · Provide clear feedback to Level II Specialists on corrections, deficiencies, or improvements needed to maintain compliance standards. · Serve as the first point of escalation for complex compliance questions, providing guidance to both site teams and compliance staff. · Assist with preparing compliance reporting for investors, state agencies, and internal leadership. · Support internal and external audit preparation by ensuring files are audit-ready and addressing findings promptly. · Track compliance activity and reporting deadlines, and escalating concerns to Compliance Managers as needed. · Mentor and support Level I and II Specialists by sharing expertise, answering questions, and reinforcing best practices. · Collaborate with Compliance Managers to identify trends, training needs, and process improvements. · Take on additional compliance-related projects and assignments to support business needs. Requirements Education: · High School Diploma or GED Experience: · Must have 4-5+ years of Affordable housing compliance experience. · Demonstrated expertise in affordable housing compliance, including knowledge of LIHTC and other housing program requirements. · Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and ensure accuracy under tight deadlines. · Excellent communication and coaching skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback to junior staff. · Experience reviewing files for investor, state agency, or internal compliance audits. · Proficiency with property management and compliance software (e.g., Yardi, Rent Café) preferred. · Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and accuracy. · Alignment with Roers Companies’ core values: · Passion – care deeply about the mission and work. · Work Ethic – demonstrate reliability, accountability, and commitment to results. · Teamwork – collaborate and communicate effectively across roles. · Integrity – uphold honesty, fairness, and ethical decision-making. · Ownership Mindset – proactive, solution-focused, and accountable for outcomes. Compensation and Benefits for Senior Compliance Specialist: Pay Range: $58,000 - $76,100 Compensation is determined by several factors that vary depending on the position, including the individual’s experience, skills, and the knowledge they bring to the specific role.
