JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Concierge & Support Worker takes a holistic and client-centered approach to care, consistently going above and beyond to provide comprehensive support to individuals and families in their homes—wherever “home” may be. This role is responsible for delivering personal care in accordance with the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines established by Manchester Rose.
Cleaning, care, and emergency response will be a primary requirement for these shifts.
The Senior Concierge & Support Worker works under the direct supervision of the Client Coordinator and Assistant Client Coordinator.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS

  • Health Care Aide certificate from an accredited institution is preferred, but not required
  • Active enrollment in the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory is preferred, but not required
  • CPR/BCLS required
  • Driver’s License & Access to a Vehicle
  • Clear police information and vulnerable sector check, dated within the last 6 months
  • Demonstrated ability to operate technology, such as mobile applications, to efficiently complete work-related tasks.
  • Demonstrated skills in communication, teamwork, organization, and customer service, with a high attention to detail and thoroughness, and a demonstrated knowledge and commitment to person-centered care
  • Awareness of accident and injury prevention, hazard identification and control; adherence to safe work practices and procedures, and the ability to problem solve through critical thinking and self-education
  • Physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the position (may be required to repetitively bend, lift, move, push, or pull objects and individuals)
  • Ability to work on his/her feet for an extended time.

Responsibilities

In addition to personal care, this position consists of a variety of concierge services, including, but not limited to:

  • Effective and efficient care under the direction of the Client Coordinator and Assistant Client Coordinator
  • Medication assistance, bathing, grooming, dressing, applying treatment creams, assisting in therapeutic activities, feeding, etc.
  • Light and/or deep cleaning duties to maintain the cleanliness and organization of client homes.
  • Light and/or deep cleaning duties to maintain the cleanliness and organization of common areas (e.g, break room, office areas, front desk, game rooms, lobby, etc.)
  • Removal and disposal of garbage items.
  • Participation in continuing education, staff meetings, and other health-related programs as directed.
  • Homemaking services include grocery shopping, putting away groceries, cooking, laundry, ironing, and more.
  • Job duties may be assigned and/or altered as reasonably needed.
