You are a seasoned Senior Construction Cost Estimator who specialises in civil infrastructure construction cost estimating with a minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience looking for the next step or are currently undertaking a comparable role in a similar environment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, driven, and capable of working both independently and as part of a high-performing team. In this impactful role, you will be providing advice, leadership and direction, actively embedding and promoting the purpose, values, and vision of Turner & Townsend. Job Description As a Senior Estimator, you will be involved in: Producing, presenting and defending construction cost plans and cost estimates for key infrastructure clients developing complex engineering projects from feasibility/concept design up to detailed design (pre-tender estimates) Review, validation of cost submissions from General Contractor(s) within a Progressive Design Build contractual environment as part of Target Cost/Price Development When necessary, challenge General Contractor’s cost build-ups and associated assumptions Providing costings of options and presenting these as part of project Optioneering stages Providing cost reconciliation cost estimates including associated justification to be presented to project clients and key stakeholders Engaging in value engineering workshops to identify the cost savings and optimum solutions available for the client Participating in probabilistic risk assessment workshops to calculate contingency provisions e.g., Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) Producing cost benchmarks for validation and target-setting on major infrastructure projects Actively interfacing with project clients, key stakeholders, contractors, and consultants (engineering, etc.) providing cost advice during all project stages Working in close collaboration with high performing project teams to ensure expectations are managed adequately and clients’ goals are achieved Qualifications Qualifications Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering / Construction Management Degree and/or Certification or equivalent Minimum of 10 years’ experience in cost estimating positions across pre-contract/post-contract phases of infrastructure projects Membership of professional organisations is a bonus (e.g., CIQS / RICS / AACE) Knowledge and proficiency with estimating software used on major civil engineering projects Experience working as an estimator in the aviation sector not essential but a bonus Additional Information What's in it for you... 100% covered health and dental benefits for you and your dependents (including paramedical services) Health spending account, to top up expenses not covered in the benefits program RRSP option with company matching Annual learning and development budget Access to a range of online learning tools, and support for career development and growth Coverage of one professional membership or license fee per year, if directly related to your role We believe in work-life balance, so you can recharge and take care of what matters most with vacation, flex and sick days A flexible, hybrid work approach that allows colleagues to find balance between their professional and personal lives Commitment to creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture that promotes a sense of belonging Our inspired people share our vision and mission.
