Job Summary The Senior Construction Project Manager based out of Manila is a newly created role with a secure pipeline of work as we “Build Bolder” across emerging markets in APAC. Our Global Design and Construction team (over 200 people) deliver over 70 projects globally per year and we are in an exciting period of growth across the region including movement into new and emerging markets. Expectations will be to direct day to day activities and operations of a team of local Construction/Operation Project Managers. Making strong tactical decisions to resolve project issues, managing Construction project costs, methods, and project team selection to meet project schedules and goals while working in a multi-faceted environment. Overview Responsible for all aspects of data center construction for respective projects from project inception, through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and hand-over of an operating facility, that could include ground up construction, fit-outs, remodels, etc. The Project Manager will be responsible for multiple projects of various size and scope, across brown and greenfield sites as well as major remediation works. They will direct all partners, internal (Design, Procurement, Operations, Security and IT/Network) as well as external vendors comprising Contractors, design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers. You will take responsibility for driving a safe, quality first culture, ensuring that all applicable codes, standards, and good construction practices are followed – this includes managing variations between local and Equinix expectation. Ensuring that internal controls are adhered to at each step of the process through effective contract administration including generation, review, management, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents and documentation. Candidates with strong local construction experience, particularly with a major International Company, or established regional firm will be highly regarded. Key responsibilities: Management Provides guidance to Construction/Operations Project Managers who are driving the delivery to day-to-day Construction/Operations projects Sets goals for immediate team members Project Management Manages multiple smaller projects or single larger construction project Lead by example on safety, standards, and culture Manage and monitor project progress, quality and compliance with building regulations Ensuring projects are meeting or exceeding company expectations Overview and management of project risk registers Leads internal stakeholders in the development of new data center projects from concept to business approval Vendor Relations Directs external vendors per project comprising general contractors, A&E design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers etc. Contributes to establishing and maintaining high value relationships Training Programs Supports in identifying and developing training programs Supports cross-functional training Contract Administration Manages contract administration procedures including generation, review, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents and documentation Liaising with local authorities and relevant State agencies and departments Leadership Directs internal and external project team members including internal Design, Procurement, Operations, Commercial and IT/Network support teams Mentors junior team members as needed Policy & Procedure Development Manages maintaining best in class policies and procedures Manages project closure, handover and lessons learned processes are established and implemented Qualifications, key skills and experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, construction project management and or with equivalent experience Experience with end-end construction project management that includes critical Infrastructure for Data center, Pharmaceutical, Bio-tech or similar environments Customer focused, Self-motivated and adaptable, with ability to take initiative where required and attain and maintain all training and information quickly In-depth knowledge of relevant statutory regulations and industry best practice locally, as well as ability and ideally proven experience in adhering to wider company, regional or global standards Experienced in construction procurement methodologies Preferred: proficiency with Microsoft Project, experience developing new data center projects, experience leading an internal cross-functional team Benefits of the role: Salary package including company shares and annual bonus in permanent positions Ongoing pipeline of work offering great job security and stability Exciting time of growth for Equinix, chance to take a lead role on projects across SEA in the future as we extend our portfolio of sites Newly created role so a chance to make an immediate impact for the business Supporting team culture locally and regionally, in-depth onboarding and training to ensure success in the role Equinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
