Position Summary
The Sr. Construction Project Manager reports to and works with the Construction Manager and is responsible for supervising the construction of a project, or multiple projects and to aid in the completion of the work on schedule, within the budget, and to the quality of workmanship specified.
The Project Manager position proactively oversees projects within but not limited to residential/commercial work. design/build Irrigation, hardscape installation, landscape lighting, and plant installation are among the common tasks done on these projects.
Project Manager would work directly with clients, vendors, and the construction manager to provide schedule updates, communicate important information, orders all materials, tracks labor, facilitates Change Orders based on the scope of the original contract and coordinates sub-contractors involved with the projects as needed. PM assures all contractual services provided by PLM are of excellent quality and completed on schedule, while adhering to the given budget. Maintains positive relationships with customers, coworkers, vendors and the community through professional, transparent, and timely communication on landscape service and products.
Essential Functions
· Crew management including attendance, performance, hiring, etc.
· Project management includes but not limited to managing requirements, schedules subcontractors, materials and labor for projects.
· Have a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the project contracts and supporting documents.
· Examine and understand the contract drawings, specifications, and details.
· Oversee field operations of multiple crews and assist in all ways necessary to ensure high quality workmanship and final product.
· Assist the construction manager in the development and to keep the schedules properly updated, and to ensure that the jobs stay on track and meet the required dates.
· Plan and review project details with the construction manager; including quality control procedures, safety and security practices, field office location and layout, staging areas, equipment, and manpower.
· Lead weekly coordination and safety meetings with crews and issue typewritten minutes and attendance notes to the construction manager.
· Process crew timesheets and timecards daily for payroll and job cost.
· Support regular job costing for finance/senior management to support monthly PLM invoicing.
· Confirm or place all material orders for projects.
· To maintain good relations and communications with all customers, vendors, subcontractors involved in the project.
Qualifications
· Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a Leadership position within the Irrigation/Landscape Construction Industry as a Project Manager or Superintendent responsible for multiple crews.
· Must have solid understanding of irrigation components and ability to field design as needed.
· Proficient skill level in computer software including but not limited to: Office 365, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.
· Common PNW Plant Identification, Disease and Pest Identification, water requirements and pruning techniques for PNW plants required.
· Skilled self-starter with the ability to work, both independently and as a team, on multiple tasks while regularly reprioritizing to maximize efficiency.
· Experience in leading and supervising a crews of 3- 6 members and to delegate tasks on site preferred.
· Must be able to prioritize work on site and work with subcontractors toward a common goal.
· Currently hold and maintain a valid WA state driver’s license and current insurance as well as ability to pass a background check.
· Current First Aid/CPR card or ability to get one in 2 months after hire.
· Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
· Bilingual Spanish-English a plus.
· Ability to work with all levels of the organization as well as customers and vendors while fostering positive relationships.
· Prior experience in detail-oriented work.
Physical Requirements
· Frequent standing for extended periods, walking frequently and sitting occasionally.
· May need to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 lbs., 100lbs-team lift.
· Ability to recognize and identify product both near and from a distance,
· Able to extensively handle and move materials and perform physical activities – using hands, arms, legs in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
· Must be able to work at computer or desk area for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to use a computer and see color and differentiate between products.
· Ability to work extended hours and in inclement weather.
