General Placement Service is seeking a seasoned underwriter to lead and grow our construction underwriting portfolio. In this role, you’ll evaluate and manage multi-line risks for large accounts, working closely with construction-focused brokers and cross-functional teams including business development, actuarial, and credit risk.
You’ll apply underwriting standards to assess, accept, or decline risks, and contribute to projects like account analysis and structuring terms and conditions. Strong relationship-building, sales, and analytical skills are essential, along with deep construction underwriting experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field preferred
• 10+ years of underwriting experience, including construction
• Experience with large deductible/national account underwriting
• Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Industry designations (CPCU, CRIS, ARM)
