Are you passionate about improving health outcomes for children and families across Alberta? The Children’s Health Program within Acute Care Alberta is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Consultant (SC) to lead provincial initiatives that enhance the quality, consistency, and value of pediatric care. Reporting to the Senior Program Lead, you will play a key leadership role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic initiatives that support system-wide improvements in children’s health. You’ll collaborate with clinical and operational leaders across zones, as well as with partners across the care continuum, to drive sustainable change aligned with Acute Care Alberta priorities. In this role, you will: Lead complex, province-wide initiatives focused on pediatric clinical and system improvement. Provide expert consultation and mentorship to operational teams to support practice change and sustainment. Develop and evaluate performance measures and strategic plans that improve outcomes for children and families. Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to align efforts and ensure integration into operations. Use advanced analytics to inform decision-making and guide senior leadership. Foster innovation and continuous improvement in pediatric care delivery. This position will be part of Acute Care Alberta effective April 1, 2025. Description:

Reporting to the Senior Program Lead, the Senior Consultant (SC) plays a key leadership role in the provincial development, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives that improve access, consistency, outcomes, and value in pediatric health care across Alberta. Working within the Children’s Health Program in Acute Care Alberta, the SC leads complex, multi-zone projects and collaborates with clinical and operational leaders to drive sustainable improvements aligned with Acute Care Alberta priorities. The SC provides expert consultation, develops clinical practice standards, and supports change management and quality improvement efforts. They guide strategic planning, performance measurement, and knowledge translation, while fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including primary care, academic institutions, and health service delivery organizations. Key responsibilities include: Leading provincial initiatives and sustaining evidence-based practices. Providing strategic and operational planning support. Managing complex projects and facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration. Building partnerships to support system-wide improvements. Utilizing data and analytics to inform decision-making and guide leadership.
