Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Program Lead of the Cardiovascular Program Improvement and Integration Network (CV PIN), the Senior Consultant leads the provincial development, implementation and evaluation of processes and actions aimed at improving access, consistency, outcomes, and value of cardiovascular care delivery in Alberta as a member of the PIN team in Acute Care Alberta (ACA). The Senior Consultant is a professional with a deep understanding of the provincial, integrated health system and utilizes their expertise and those of other partners to find solutions to improve patient outcomes and value. The incumbent works with a high degree of independence and in collaboration with the CV PIN leadership and team, clinical and administrative operational leads in Alberta Health Services (AHS) and Covenant Health (CH), and patient and family advisors on priority areas of work. Leading projects or initiatives with a provincial scope that are complex in nature, the role provides coaching and guidance to various operational groups in practice change supporting high quality, evidence-based care. As part of a Learning Health System, the incumbent will utilize organizational approaches for improvement and innovation. This position will be part of Acute Care Alberta effective April 1, 2025. Description:
The Senior Consultant will: Gather, analyze, synthesize and where necessary coordinate leading practices, quantitative and qualitative data to inform recommendations for the development of provincial strategic plans and new approaches to care delivery. Work with the CV PIN team to complete PIN functions to support direction, implementation and evaluation of complex projects, capability assessment, mining for innovation and ensuring alignment with ACA requirements. Lead, develop and implement innovative approaches to sustaining practice improvements while working closely with clinical operational leads, staff and physicians to address system issues with sustainable solutions that align with ACA priorities. Guide evaluation of PIN activities and development of performance measures/targets in concert with others. Carry out the quality and planning related functions identified by PIN priority initiatives within the ACA mandate. Collaborate with appropriate departments within AHS and CH, provincial health agencies and others on priority initiatives. Work closely with partners across the continuum such as ambulatory care and rehabilitation as needed. Direct and share advanced analytics related to clinical performance metrics with a view to providing advice and guidance to senior operational and clinical leaders. Provide project management support. Produce ad hoc deliverables as required.
