Our team is diverse in experience but united by a shared mission of creating a world where unsustainable is unthinkable.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Consultant in our Climate & Nature team, you’ll play a key role in helping clients undertake physical and transition climate risk assessments and assisting our clients in their climate disclosure journey to the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards. You’ll be familiar with climate scenario analysis techniques, climate exposure assessment, and general climate science, including climate projections in Australia and relevant data sources from the IPCC, and the development of adaptation plans and strategies.
You’ll lead projects, engage directly with clients, and, depending on your experience level, mentor and manage junior consultants.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Climate Risk Assessments – Design and deliver physical and transition risk assessments aligned to national and international standards.
  • Physical Risk Analysis – Conduct quantitative assessments using Australian climate datasets, including GIS or other widely used climate models.
  • Climate Exposure Assessments – Use IPCC climate projections and Australian datasets to assess climate hazards and their potential impacts on different locations.
  • Adaptation Strategies – Develop climate risk treatment plans and adaptation strategies to strengthen resilience.
  • Climate & Nature Disclosure – Guide clients in aligning with climate-related and ESG standards, including AASB S2 and Taskforce for Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) (Experience in this would be advantageous but not essential)
  • Nature Risk Assessments – Apply the LEAP methodology to assess nature-related risks, impacts, and dependencies for organizations. (Experience in this would be advantageous but not essential).
  • Client Engagement – Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored sustainability solutions.
  • Project Management – Oversee project delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes across various industries.
  • Capacity Building – Support clients in developing internal capability for climate risk management and sustainability reporting.
  • Proposal Development – Lead the development of compelling proposals that articulate Edge’s expertise and approach.
  • Research & Innovation – Stay informed on the latest trends, regulations, and innovations in climate science, risk assessment, and sustainability reporting.
  • Team Collaboration – Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated solutions and provide mentorship to junior consultants.
