SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS

  • Tertiary qualification, such as in engineering, science, economics or accounting
  • Experience in climate change services (either in professional services, industry or government)
  • Experience in financial or non-financial audit (either in professional services, industry or government)
  • Ability to work independently across multiple engagements with overlapping deadlines
  • Agility to learn and adapt on the job, ask the right questions and strive for the best solutions for clients
  • Demonstrable experience in and passion for reporting and/or assurance of greenhouse gas emissions

  • Professional services/consulting experience
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice as well as a good understanding of the climate-related issues
  • Practical experience with energy and emissions reporting schemes including National Greenhouse Emissions Reporting (NGER) scheme, the Safeguard Mechanism and the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF)
  • Climate risk assessment and disclosure experience, including knowledge of the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) Framework
  • Knowledge of key assurance standards including General Audit and Assurance Procedures (GAAP), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and the associated draft Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS)
  • Knowledge of, and experience in decarbonisation approaches, climate risk and climate strategy.

Responsibilities

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team across a range of industries, assisting organisations on how they manage and report on a broad range of sustainability and climate related risks and impacts
  • Assurance of non-financial reporting, including sustainability metrics, emissions and energy reporting across a range of industry sectors
  • Contribute to strategy, solutions, methodologies, analytical frameworks and tools to help clients succeed and navigate complex regulatory environments and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Assist clients to develop and implement sustainability strategies, develop targets, and implement plans to enhance sustainability value for a broad range of sustainability topics, including diversity, waste, modern slavery and environmental impacts
  • Analyse effects of water, air quality and climate change towards organisations and communities, including ensuring integrity of environmental data as well as understanding climate risks and opportunities, in order to formulate short-and long-term management objectives
