Sellers Dorsey’s Southeast region practice group collaborates with practice leaders to develop, refine, and bring new products and services to the market, identifying potential targets for acquisitions and leveraging policy and healthcare expertise to create new solutions and needs for the Firm. They support a portfolio involving financial and policy initiatives connected to supplemental payment projects in the Medicaid Financing and Strategic Consulting portfolio. They also work on engagements from program design to implementation, collaborating with clients and team members on initiatives in Medicaid financing, managed care, and provider policy and reimbursement.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, business, economics required. Advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, Business, Finance or MBA preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible work experience is required, preferably in health or human services policy research, business/finance, consulting and/or in a healthcare service delivery environment, or 5+ years of post-graduate, progressively responsible work experience in consulting or operational experience in health care and/or health policy research/analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.

Responsibilities

Sellers Dorsey’s Southeast region practice group is seeking a Senior Consultant working remotely who will provide client consulting services including providing objective advice, expertise and specialized skills in the area of Medicaid financing and healthcare policy. As the Senior Consultant, you will manage a portfolio that involves financial and policy initiatives connected to supplemental payment projects contained within the Southeast portfolio, and you will provide project management services to client teams and are responsible for direct service delivery and client satisfaction for large, complex, multi-year initiatives. You will also support the Director(s), Associate Director(s) and guides Consultant(s) through the project phases and client engagements. Team management will include setting goals, timelines, and guiding the discussion on strategies related to projects and problem solving with project leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the team, responsible for managing project management needs such as project timelines and tracking documents across multiple projects/clients while ensuring exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Create draft client reports, client communications, and work deliverables for distribution to client or for Associate Director or Director review; take ownership and produces deliverables with minimal supervision.
  • Work with team and Subject Matter Experts to understand all aspects of a project/client, including the technical, financial, and political components.
  • As assigned, may serve as a key client contact to respond to client questions, provide required communication, and be responsible for a successful client engagement.
  • Manage strategic approach outlined by project team and ongoing implementation of projects.
  • Prepare for and lead/participate in internal and external meetings including debriefs as directed by the Director or Associate Direct. Prepare notes, presentations and written documents that summarize meeting/ project updates and contextualize technical information such as metric reporting and financial estimates into understandable narratives for clients.
  • Anticipate, escalate, and propose solutions for service, quality or risk issues; works with Directors, Associate Directors and Subject Matter Experts to identify resource needs to implement solutions.
  • Achieve personal performance goals across multiple projects and clients.
  • Mentor and onboard new Consultants and Associates.
  • Develop relationships/mentorships with staff across the firm.
